Windsor Gardens Resident Rights
As a resident of Windsor Gardens you have the right to
- Be treated with dignity and respect.
- Participate in decisions which affect
you, both individually and corporately.
- Have your records containing personal
and financial information kept confidential.
- Privacy.
- Freedom to talk to the Executive Director.
- Be treated fairly, courteously, and with
respect by all staff.
- Receive prompt response to emergency
calls and requests for assistance.
- Manage your own financial affairs or
appoint someone you trust to handle your affairs for you.
- Personalize your apartment.
- Communicate and socialize freely with
individuals of your own choosing.
- Be free of physical or psychological
abuse from staff, family, and other residents.
- Live free from involuntary confinement
and financial exploitation.
- Enjoy full use of the facility, including
lounges, dining room, and activity areas in compliance with
facility guidelines.
- Voice grievances without fear of reprisal
from staff or management.
- Recommend changes in policies and procedures.
- Communicate privately by mail or telephone
with anyone, but not limited to, relatives, friends, caseworkers,
lawyers, medical and psychiatric facilities, health care
professionals, and members of public agencies.
- Have visitors, provided the visits are
conducted at reasonable hours and the visitors are not actively
disruptive to other residents.
- Exercise choice in attending and participating
in activities, including religious services.
- Be made aware of the policy and procedures
for handling grievances and problems.
- Form resident councils and conduct meetings
in private.
- Be consulted and encouraged to have input
into your assistance/service plan which guides the services
delivered to you.
- Be given 30 days written notice of termination
of residency, except in case of medical emergency or nonpayment
of rent.
- Be given 30 days advance notice of changes in the Community Fee Structure.
